*The landscape as a message of the heart*

Daniel Froment Artiste peintre Charlevoix - BiographieAs a " Baie St-Paulois ", Daniel Froment , a few years ago ,began his long and marvelous path in the arts, a trip into the universe of sketches and colors that revealed him the key of his freedom.

He had to experience several different carrers before he realized that art was his passion. First he studied law during one year at University of Montreal when he was nineteen years old. Then, he decided to study arts. Today, his life is completely dedicated to painting.

We can feel a creative will that is established in Daniel's mind ; he lives to paint. In Daniel's work we see the spirit of an artist and his need to follow the rythm of his inspiration, and his love of the nature.

The works of Daniel are an ode to sensibility. That tender melted green on the canvas, that brightness along a part of the sky as the day rises, that special moment of the day that the painter tracks to show and make the people enjoy it when they look at the painting.

He was to make a painting of his own signature. Instead of filling in the numbers on a cardboard that would create birds on branches, Daniel turned the carboard over and painted a farm scene using the colors provided with it, inspired by a small black and white photo found earlier. This painting held his very own signature and his talent was now evident to him.

He had the privilege to paint with Bruno Côté. It was during this period that he learned how to create light effects:"Over the years, I considered the lessons he gave to me, and developed my own way of painting, keeping in mind the essence of his recommendations. And then I developed my own techniques".

My method is very simple: " I track the effects of light in the landscape but also I paint the moods that I feel during the process of painting. . The painting represents impressions and emotions melted together. The quality of my work and the satisfaction that I have from it is not a question of time consecrated to it. Often, the more powerful paintings are those done faster, because I know what I'm doing, and the more it's seems simple, the more it is effective."

For Daniel what is the most important is to show with his work the sensibility that lives inside him and to give other people the joy and the peace that inspired him:" There are some artists that say that painting landscapes is an old style ; I let them talk and I do what I like."

Daniel confirms us that art has it's own soul, the soul that the artist has given it.
